Acro Commerce's Job Board
Business Development Professional
Description
Career Opportunity
Here's the corporate dribble HR made us put at the top: Acro Commerce is looking for a Business Development Professional to guide prospective clients through the buyer's cycle and nurture them into long-lasting relationships.
That's done. Now here's what we really want. A seasoned sales vet. Someone who's been around the block and knows that consistent prospecting is the whole game. You build real rapport over the phone, in virtual meetings, over email, and in person. You help prospects by finding the pain they didn't know they had and delivering the solution that moves their numbers.
You also know yourself. You can tell when you're pushing too hard, and you ease off. You can walk us through a deal you lost and what you got wrong, without flinching. That kind of honesty is how you got good in the first place.
Below is the important stuff: what you'd be doing and the skills you bring. If you're not an exact match, but what you're reading pulls you in, send your cover letter and resume.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Think on their feet and solve problems that other people get stuck on
- Self-motivate and stay disciplined without anyone standing over them
- Build genuine rapport with clients and prospects by phone, email, and in person
- Read a room, and a prospect, and adjust in real time
- Keep themselves and their pipeline organized in the CRM
- Control and close effectively
- Hunt actively for new leads and potential clients
- Feel the rejection, name it, and do not carry it into the next call
- Collaborate and work well in a team
- Meet sales targets and quotas
- Work toward win/win relationships
- Set proper expectations and deliver on time
- Leverage AI to multiply output and focus on selling
- Travel extensively to client sites, regional offices, and industry events (note: this is a travel-intensive position)
Relative Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years in a consultative sales position
- Industry experience required: ERP, Commerce, Software, and B2B sales
- Proficiency with sales systems, e.g. Sandler Training
- Consultative B2B sales experience
- Comfortable with CRM software
- Familiarity with LLM models and how to use them to scale sales efforts
- A willingness to learn, develop, and build new skills
All offers of employment with Acro Commerce are contingent on successfully completing a criminal background check.
What you get out of it:
Pay for performance, with the door open. We want seasoned closers, so we pay like it. For candidates in Canada, you get a base paired with an aggressive, uncapped commission structure. Expected On-Target Earnings sit between $80,000 and $150,000 CAD at target, and a pro stepping in with the 5-7 years we're after can expect roughly $100,000 in year one. The ceiling is yours to raise. This is a hunting role: you own the deal through the first year, working alongside an Account Manager who handles the details, then hand off the relationship so you can stay focused on closing the next one. Your package gets tailored to your B2B experience, your track record, and your fit with our values.
Autonomy over your schedule. Flex start times, earned days off, and real remote work. Prefer to start at 8:00? 9:00? We'll work with you. Want every second Friday off? We've got a program for that. Work from your home office or from our Kelowna HQ, your call. (Some client contracts require staff to be located in Canada, so most positions need you to be legally able to work here.)
A team you'll actually like. We take the work seriously and ourselves a lot less. Expect the occasional virtual happy hour, team competition, or reward for no particular reason. Fair warning: there are costumes. Check out our site and dissect how we do what we do.
All careers come with a 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. If you're unsatisfied with your career, we'll return you to the workforce at no cost (minus shipping and handling).
